Statistics: Russia’s inflation at 0.4% in June, 3.3% since Jan 1
MOSCOW, Jul 5 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation remained flat on the month at 0.4% in June and stood at 3.3% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said Tuesday.
Annual inflation sped up to 7.5% in June from 7.3% in May.
Russia’s food inflation slowed down to 0.1% in June from 0.4% in May, while annual food inflation sped up to 6.2% from 5.6%.
Prices for buckwheat increased 5.6%, but rice and millet became 0.2–1.1% cheaper.
Cucumber prices fell 27.3%, cabbage prices by 13%, tomatoes prices by 11.1%, bananas prices decreased 10.2%, and prices for grapes went down 5.8%.
But potatoes prices jumped by 30.1%, prices for beetroot increased by 18.3%, for carrot by 6.7%, and for onions by 5.2%.
